Over the course of several years I have been given the opportunity to meet unique individuals in the community, participate in inspiring causes and work with highly motivated professionals. I have found that some of my most fulfilling moments have been writing and sharing someone else's story. I have learned that everyone is filled with moments of happiness and pain, success and obstacles and all the other factors that attribute to life. Each person has set footprints on a path they call their own- and I think that is stunning.
"The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal to him his own." -Benjamin Disraeli
Taking a moment to realize that I am almost a senior has brought me to reflect on my own journey and what my collegiate years have given to me so far. One of the most important experiences has been my membership with Kappa Delta Sorority. I was supported by the young women in K∆ more than I knew was possible. As I grew through the last three years to be the member I am today I noticed a pattern along the way.
Each Tuesday evening there are members who bravely stand up during chapter meeting to enlist the help of sisters in their cause, to advocate for their event or to share a story that impacts others. An immense desire to aid others matched with strong determination accurately describes all of these young women. I find it amazing to witness and I want the world to know the impact they make.
It is my hope that I can share their stories with you. I will begin a series of features on the women in my sorority at LSU to showcase the beautiful passions and dreams they hold near to their heart and a glimpse into their lives.
